Eclipsion
















Cauca is a Korean design brand that collaborates with the most established and emerging designers to create inspiring decorative objects for the living environment.

They teamed up with Jay Jiwoong Baek to produce the very minimal Eclipse wall clock designed around the imagery of a solar eclipse. The hands are invisible and you can only see the circles at their tips, when they overlap several times a day, the appearance of a solar eclipse is generated.

Hammerthor are a brand of mens underwear based in Denmark, that have been in manufacture since 1893. They are responsible for Japanese-based Comme des Garçons’ line of underwear, as well, some of which have their trademarked designs, and others that are simply rebranded.

DEX desk
























Reinier de Jong recently presented another refined furniture piece: the DEX desk. The Rotterdam (The Netherlands) based designer created a minimalist and compact desk suitable for small spaces.

The desk is made of two horizontal cross shapes laths of solid wood in which a drawer unit is placed. The desk is available with two or three drawers. They can easily be pulled out to provide a place for a printer which can be control from the desk seat.

Mr. T

















Darmstadt based industrial design duo Marcel Kieser and Christof Spath of Kieser Spath have created a simple and intelligent clothing rail concept in Mr. T. The rail consists of two wooden T-shaped strips and a metal rod sitting between them.

Featured at this year’s DMY International Design Festival in Berlin, the freestanding Mr. T is available in two different sizes, and when not in use, the item can be disassembled and quite intelligently stored flat even in moderately small closets.

Claude Rutault

















Claude Rutault (1941) has had a highly important role in art in France since the 1970s. He is a conceptual artist although Rutault doesn’t see himself as a conceptual artist but as a painter.

Since 1973, Claude Rutault uses a simple method to create new artworks.Definition/Method is a text, describing a procedure that makes it possible to realize a painting by Claude Rutault. Basically, with Rutault, the wall is becoming an integral part of the artwork. 


The identity of the canvas colour with the wall has led to development of a corpus of over 300 definitions/methods. Artworks from Claude Rutault are visible at Galerie Perrotin in Paris.

Character












Character is a Finnish company that recycles old neon signs, created by designer Aleksi Hautamäki.

Their process consists in choosing the most stylish letters and turning them into individual and unique design objects, and their sustainability is further enhanced by replacing the neon tubes with LEDs. They add a transformer, install a power cord and off the letters go with a new life cycle.

2D LED Pendant
















2D LED Pendant is a new design by the young and great German studioDING3000, for the Italian label Skitsch.

The design is reduced to the outline of the archetypical pendant lamp. The illumination comes from two LED strips that are fitted in the structure and covered with an opal spreading.

Ghost Chair


Philippe Starck designed two Ghost Chairs for Kartell between 2002-2005. They remain to be some of their best selling pieces. The Ghost Chairs are modelled on the classic Louis XVI chair, rendered into transparent polycarbonate ghost-like form. The Victoria Ghost chair is designed for use as a side-chair, whereas the Louis Ghost chair is a bit bigger, and has arm rests.

Wire chair





















Tokyo based furniture designer Oki Sato designed this thin and almost fragile wire chair. The wire chair is a follow up of the cord chair.
The stainless steel legs have a diameter of 12mm and multiple layers of powder coating and hand polishing give the chair a resistant and lustrous finish. Available in three different serene colors.

Annett Bourquin and Kerstin Greve are designers from Lisbon, Portugal. Under the label of ANVE, they create objects that take their time, and become more beautiful with life, like their Sacos de papel (paper bags). Rolling it up is a valid way to close a bag and it also creates a handle out of nothing.

Malaysian clothing label ULTRA, who specialise in sustainability in leading fashion have designed ULTRA 10 – the ten piece wardrobe. ULTRA and sustainability leaders LOHASGreenovate and The Wellness Works collaborated to produce a core wardrobe of ten pieces for 365 days of the year.


The made-to-order women’s collection, which is made of organic and recycled fabrics includes; a vest, a backless top, a cropped top, a white shirt/dress, a skirt, a top/dress, stretch pants, cotton trousers, a 2-in-1 blazer, and a 3-in-1 dress-jacket-skirt.

Nissyoku

























Nissyoku, inspired by the astronomical phenomenon of the solar eclipse, is designed by Hungary based designstudio Igen. Igen was founded by Daniel Lorincz and Alberto Vasquez, both students Industrial design in Budapest.

The lens-shaped panels on both sides can move in multiple directions. You can easily adjust the direction and strength of the light by turning the panels, fixed on the lamp by magnets, in a preferred direction. You switch the light on and off by gently touching the metal ring in the middle.

Corona






















Japanese design agency Nendo brings a set of globes called CoronaThe globes were designed for Japanese globe manufacturer Watanabe Kyogu.

Rather than the common blue and green, the Corona globes have white oceans and black land masses. Furthermore, the globes show country names, but no borders. The purpose of this simplification was to create a new kind of globe that would be more emotional, rather than simply presenting information.

Pot Thermos


Thermos is created for Nescafé and designed by swiss Jörg BonerThis well designed product works has a coffee container for the road.

The elastic band that fixes the cups into place can be transformed into a handle in just one move, turning the termos bottle into a coffee pot. The way in which it plays with both archetypes is characteristic of the product.

Arne Jacobsen Cutlery

Have a great minimalist diner with this minimalist cutlery set from the well-known Danish architect and furniture designer Arne Jacobsen. This simple in form set was created in 1957 and is more contemporary-looking than ever.


The set is produced in matte-finish stainless steel and includes a dinner fork, a dinner knife, a salad fork, a desert spoon and a child’s/tea spoon.

Paper Chairs














These lovely chairs were designed by Japanese architect Junya Ishigami. They were first shown in 2008 at a Canon exhibition, during the Salone del Mobile in Milan.

Although they seem to be made of paper, and look really fragile, they can actually support the weight of a sitting person.

Conchiglia Sideboard


The sideboard Conchiglia (shell) by StudioCharlie for Lema is inspired by the geometric form of a spiral, which is infinite both in its origin and its development. What we see when we observe a spiral is a portion of it. As it develops it becomes too large to be perceived by the human eye, and in its origin it is too small for us to see the minute details.
