Kami




Stockholm based studio Claesson Koivisto Rune was founded by designers Mårten Claesson, Eero Koivisto, and Ola Rune. The multi-disciplinary studio, which was originally an architectural office, have produced Kami (paper in Japanese).
The Kami table is entirely made in solid bamboo. Available in natural or black, it can be a living room table, a desk or a peculiar meeting table. The absence of screws, bolts and glues and the innovative interlock assembly underline its technical and aesthetic qualities.

Chip




















All elements, of this analog clock named Chip, are precisely laser cut from recycled chipboard. That is where the name comes from. Hidden inside is a traditional clock mechanism which drives the hour and minute disks. On the front there are subtle visual references for 3,6,9, and 12 hours.

Minimal Vase by Ding 3000, designed for the brand Discipline, is an object, stripped to its function. The piece is nothing but a wooden base and a steel thread that supports the flowers. Any cup, glass, jar, cruet or even a test-tube can be used as a water receptacle.

Thalie















It was such a treat coming across industrial designer Julie Richoz’s project titled Thalie. The seductive forms, across industrial designer Julie Richoz’s project titled Thalie, were cut to resemble a plate, a fruit bowl and a bread basket. Only a piece of metal wire, each composed of a frame made of spring steel, secures each piece together.

Bulb Fiction
























Bulb Fiction is a pendant lamp, created by the Danish studio KiBiSi. Designers Lars Larsen, Bjarke Ingels and Jens Martin Skibsted draw their inspiration from the shape of a incandescent light bulb. By refining the familiar object and turning it into an exquisite minimalist fixture, they gave it a new life.

Piet Side Table























Drawing from the colorful, geometric paintings of Dutch artist Piet Mondrian, this design is called the Piet Side Table. The table has an asymmetrical leg structure made from solid walnut and a bright matt lacquer top. This design is available in white, black, red, blue, or yellow; naturally these colors are derived from Mondrian’s paintings.

#3 chair





















The #3 chair by StudioGorm, minimalist and strong chair influenced by classic Egyptian furniture. The seat, made of laminated wood, is gently curved at the top and bottom edges and placed on a triangulated joint, giving the chair its strength. The #3 chair comes in a neutral or a crayon colour finished seat. There is also a slightly wider seat version available which can be used as a small bench for two.

Logical Art, a London based design studio had the idea of making technology disappear in the form of these Empty Memory flash drives. The absence of a portion of the drive alludes to what might hold the ‘memories’ is replaced with 2 minimal elements of emptiness: Transparency, which is a clear plexi attached to a stainless brushed or mirror finish and Structure, an asymmetrical hollow frame in a stainless steel finish.

Tilta Lamp
















The Tilta Lamp is a light fixture designed by Scoope Design. As the name suggests, Tilta Lamp can tilt back and forth on its concrete base. The concrete is molded so as to allow the lamp to rotate at almost 360 degrees. The metal piece at the top of the lamp acts as a handle for which to move the light, and gravity does the rest of the work.

Cargo Coffee Table













This table, called Cargo, has been created by French designer Frédéric Saulou. The idea lies in the expandable surface of the piece, achieved by sliding or swiveling its main frame and drawer. The alluminium powder coated components are attached to the wooden base and move freely among it thanks to the joint mechanism.

Privacy International

















This is Real Art is a London-based advertising, design and branding agency and they strike a chord with the beautifully meaningful design for the Privacy International prospectus.

Privacy International is a human rights ‘watchdog’ organisation, an NGO focused on fighting against unlawful privacy intrusions by government and businesses. The prospectus outlines the current work and future targets of the organisation and is packaged within an embossed cover that doubles as an envelope, keeping the ensemble minimalistic in function and design. The perforated cover even keeps the content private until physically opened by the reader.

Smart Console
















This desk by German-based designer André Schelbach is equipped with storage arrangements, multiple power outlets and wire management components. All hidden underneath the sleek console frame.
All drawers are lined with velvet (so that our precious devices can be stored scratch-free). Wires are organized via magnets, allowing running the cables through a metal frame, concealed from the view.

Ker is an attractive coat stand designed by Lluïsa Morató for the Spanish company Systemtronic, which specialises in office furniture and accessories since 1984.

The coat stand is made using twelve beech wooden bars fixed slightly inclined to a lacquered steel hoop with butterfly screws.

Timp Lamp















Timp is a desk lamp by German-based industrial designer Lutz Pankow for Pliet. It is designed with efficiency by using only 21W, is dimmable and creates a crisp light that illuminates without any reflection. Being produced in 3 types of solid wood, it can be adjusted to secure to any table thickness between 10-60mm and the spread and amount of light is optimized in its fixed height from the surface of the desk.

Working with found imagery, Matt superposes different textures and colors with portraits and silhouettes. The work featured today is a series entitled Landscape, where majestic images of nature fill in the quiet, somber human silhouettes, creating haunting pieces of still life.

Drip Candle Holders



















Drip Candle Holders is a collection of glazed ceramic candle holders inspired by drips of paints. The collection was designed by London based Gemma Fabbri for Ex.t, a young Italian brand of interior decoration, particularly for bathrooms, but also for the home.
Each peace is handcrafted in a traditional Tuscan laboratory and they are available in different length of the stem sizes and in a range of colours and material finishes.

Oneline


























Austrian designer Klemens Schillinger, currently based in London, has produced Oneline – a lightweight clothes rail.
Oneline consists of only a single component – a mild steel tube. With four bends, the tube becomes a structurally stable yet lightweight object. The design considered the maximum available standard length mild steel tubing (6 metres) in order to produce a clothes rail that leaves no offcuts and requires minimal material investment.

This still by Poland based photographer Mac Oller is calm, zen-line and minimal in composition. Oller uses long exposure technique photographing in poor lighting or with use of strong neutral density filters in order to achieve this effect of solitude and oneness.

Pieces from Raf Simons‘ final menswear collection for Jil Sander (Autumn/Winter 2012) have now made their appearance in retail stores. The must have accessory is a clutch resembling the form of a sandwich bag. The clutch comes in two distinctly different fabrics: leather and coated paper (also in black).

Period Clock




















Tamer Koseli is a Swiss multidisciplinary designer currently living in Istanbul. Koseli has recently created an unusual wall clock, named Period Clock.

The clock is composed of just three moving circles that indicate the time in a new and intuitive way. The large and medium circles that make up the main clock face rotate to indicate the hour while the smaller circle within the medium hour circle indicates the minutes. It also glows in the dark, making it easy to tell time at night.

Olympic Rings of Infographics























A infographics project titled oceaniaeuropeamericasafricaasia by advertising creative Gustavo Sousa embodies more than just the intention of spreading awareness on global issues. It challenges our own knowledge of current affairs and assumptions of design and colors. Using the Olympic symbol of the 5 colored circles aptly in time with the 2012 summer games in London, Gustavo chose to depict current social concerns in a short video while categorizing a color in relation to each of the continents.

ReWrap

















The sleeves by reWrap are created according to the Cradle to Cradle principle. This means: 100% reusable materials, 100% renewable energy and 100% social production. The sleeves are made of felt (98%) and yarn (2%) and are fully biodegradable. To avoid unnecessary use of materials for the label, the logo is stamped into the sleeve, a nice detail. By time the logo will slowly fade. The makers expected the use time to be 5 years and after use your sleeve will turn into compost rather than waste.

The sleeves – available for laptop, Macbook, iPad and iPhone – are sewn together in a small Amsterdam located workshop that provides employment to people with a handicap.

Poser




























New York based industrial designer and artist William Lee recently designed Poser – a geometrical lighting structure.

Poser’s pure and structurally simple form gently leans against the wall at a 25 degree angle and relies on its interior space to function and stand. Presented at this year’s New York Design Week for Wanted Design, the metal lamp shade pivots and is designed for left and right orientation of the foot base.

SILK

















Industrial designer and architect Alessandro Di Prisco recently created SILK. A one meter square table made of Corian. The versatility of Corian allows it to be thermoformed and shaped in organic shapes like the SILK table. A table that is solid as a rock but looks like a scarf taken by the wind.

The sinuous shapes are the support of the table creating a visual continuity between top and bottom.

United Measures















Founded in 2010, United Measures, the fine art frame fabrication business of Melbourne-based craftsman and designer Ryan Wards, creates bespoke and detailed frames with an earnest respect for timber.

With a background in graphic design, Ryan spent years working in a busy commercial graphic design environment, dedicating himself to framing and screenprinting in his spare time, until finally transitioning to running his own business. Every piece from United Measures is handcrafted by Ryan and his father, Roger Ward, with attention to detail and never using pre-finished materials.

Nendo Bathroom Collection


















Japanese design studio Nendo and Italian brand Bisazza Bagno gave birth to this bathroom collection. The line includes a crate-like bathtub, washstand and mirrors that resemble droplets of water, sticks in a stand for a towel drier, diagonally patterned mirrors, stackable containers for plans, rotating storage boxes and a seating piece.

Lichtkiste



















Initially showcased at last year’s Milan Design Week, Clemens Tissi's Lichtkiste light box offers independent elements that enable “direct access to the subject area and volume, light and dark, light and shadow.” The user modulates the light by simply moving the individual elements.

Made from MDF with a white or light grey, hand-painted surface finish, Lichtkiste measures 37cm x 35cm x 34cm.

This cash and cards holder by Daycraft is small, simple, light and compartment free. The piece, aptly called Moneywrap, is reduced to a singular folding principle. It wraps around your banknotes, which in turn are folded over your credit cards. The result is a sleek little item, that can fit in any pocket.
