Uselen











Letter opener Uselen is one of the latest pieces in the Alessi collection, and designed by the Italian Giulio Iacchetti.

It is shaped like a hummingbird, and its elegant curves give it a nice sense of motion. And although is made from a single piece of polished stainless steel, there’s a soft and glossy feel to it.

The Slim Table






















The Slim Table was designed by Dutch furniture and lighting designer Bertjan Pot for the 100 year jubilee of Arco.
The most significant characteristic is the feeling that is cannot be a sturdy table, because of it is made of wood, and very lightweight.
The frame is made of aluminum, and laminated with a thin layer of oak wood or a lacquered finish. The result is excellent!

House for elderly people
















This House for elderly people, located at Alcacer do Sal, Portugal, was designed by the office of the brothers Manuel and Francisco Aires Mateus.


In his recent work the photographer Fernando Guerra captures the importance of the moment and of fruition in architectural design were this project, playful, sensual and somewhat enigmatic, shows abstraction forms in a continuos metamorphosis.


Independents unities aggregate into a unique body that resemble on the work of nature. "The building, designed path, is a wall that naturally rises from the topography: it limits and defines the open space, and organize the entire plot".

Guerrero House




















Guerrero House, located at Vejer de la Frontera, Cádiz, Spain, was designed by the famous Spanish architect Alberto Campo Baeza.

The play on light, space and proportion is extraordinary. A small opening in an 8 meter high square wall is the only entrance. Center of the house is the 9 x 9 meter central square, which has a ceiling of again 8 meters high.

Tea Trolley 901

The birch wood tea trolley was designed by Finnish architect Alvar Aalto in 1936.

Aalto designed this cart for residential use. He placed it in the living room of the Villa Mairea (1937-1939). It is based on an earlier serving cart designed for the Paimio tuberculosis sanatorium in Paimio, Finland Proper (1933).

The large white wheels have black rubber treads and the trolly top is available in ceramic tile, black linoleum or white laminate.

Ribbons for Japan by John Pawson

























British minimalist architect John Pawson has designed a ribbon to support the disaster relief effort, following the earthquake and tsunami, earlier this month. Electronic version of the design is available to download for attachment to websites and emails. A donation can be made online.

Chapel Of The Assumption



The Chapel of the Carmelites of the Assumption in Paris, was built in 1959 by Noël Lemaresquier (a disciple of Le Corbusier).

While the architects of 3Box realised the architectural conversion of the building, John Doe, the design studio created by Grégory Lacoua and Jean Sébastien Lagrange has sign the new interior design of the Chapel.

The Studio tackled liturgical furniture: pews, prie-dieu, altar, font, tabernacle and lectern, all together with a minimalist strategy.

Spotify Radio



















This is a prototype of a device to listen to Spotify, that was the degree project of Jordi Parra, an Interaction Design student at the Umeå Institute of Design. There is a very strong resemblance to the work of Dieter Rams for Braun.

The device has two small buttons to skip to the next and previous track in the queue. The big button is the volume control and reader for the tags.
At the moment this device is not available for sale.
