Corona

Japanese design agency Nendo brings a set of globes called Corona. The globes were designed for Japanese globe manufacturer Watanabe Kyogu.

Rather than the common blue and green, the Corona globes have white oceans and black land masses. Furthermore, the globes show country names, but no borders. The purpose of this simplification was to create a new kind of globe that would be more emotional, rather than simply presenting information.

Paper Chairs

These lovely chairs were designed by Japanese architect Junya Ishigami. They were first shown in 2008 at a Canon exhibition, during the Salone del Mobile in Milan.

Although they seem to be made of paper, and look really fragile, they can actually support the weight of a sitting person.

Conchiglia Sideboard

The sideboard Conchiglia (shell) by StudioCharlie for Lema is inspired by the geometric form of a spiral, which is infinite both in its origin and its development. What we see when we observe a spiral is a portion of it. As it develops it becomes too large to be perceived by the human eye, and in its origin it is too small for us to see the minute details.
